Recently, the popularity of air fryers has surged, with many households across the country now owning one or wanting one - in the last month alone, there have been 3.8 million searches for ‘air fryers’ and searches have been up by 9% according to Google search trend data.

However, when it comes to cooking in air fryers, there remains a gap in terms of understanding on the cooking times for various foods compared to traditional ovens.

To address this, the UK's largest air fryer brand*, Ninja Kitchen, has unveiled a list of foods that the nation is unsure how to cook in an air fryer, along with a comprehensive guide to cooking times and temperatures.

Ninja Air Fryers cut down cooking time vs fan ovens by UP TO 65%**

Whilst it is common knowledge that air fryers cut down the cooking times of most foods - exactly how much is the cooking time cut down by?

A post recently circulated on the internet and has gained quite the traction receiving over 329 likes and 179 shares on Facebook. The post included an air fryer cooking time conversion chart and revealed that air fryers on average cut the cooking time of food down by 20%.

In the comments of the post, while some air fryer lovers have been going crazy with one saying, “I swear by this!” and “THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!”, others have been saying, “takes much less time in mine”, and “if you have a Ninja, it's even less”.

Off the back of this, Ninja Kitchen has revealed that Ninja air fryers can be surprisingly efficient - cutting cooking times down by up to 65%**! Also, cooking in the air fryer reduces cooking times further as they require little to no preheat time, compared to an oven.

In their AF400UK model, 4 fresh sausages can take only 8 minutes to cook! Additionally, the cooking time of four burgers in the AF100UK air fryer is just 10 minutes.

Ninja’s Top Air Frying Tips

With 115,000 searches in the last month alone for ‘air fryer recipes’, air fryer cooking is becoming more popular than ever. In light of this, Ninja Kitchen has revealed their top tips when it comes to cooking in an air fryer.

    1. Don't overfill the basket

When using your air fryer, avoid overfilling the baskets. Overfilling them can lead to sub-par results. Instead, give your food enough space to allow hot air to circulate freely - this will ensure even and crispy food.

    2. Shake the basket when cooking

When cooking in the air fryer, be sure to shake your air fryer baskets a couple of times to ensure your food cooks evenly - this will also ensure that your food is crispy rather than soggy.

    3. Ensure regular cleaning

It’s important to clean your air fryer drawer/s after every use to prevent the build-up of any grease/oils. Keeping your air fryer clean will ensure that it works efficiently for as long as possible.
