  • 400g minced beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 300g tomato passata
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon rosemary, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon basil, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Prep Time


  1. Select SEAR/SAUTE and set temperature to MEDIUM. Press START/STOP and allow to preheat for 5 minutes.

  2. After preheating is complete, place the oil, onion, carrot, garlic and beef into the pot and sauté for 5 minutes.

  3. When beef begins to brown, add salt, pepper, stock cube, rosemary, thyme, parsley and tomato passata to the mix.

  4. Change the temperature to LOW and continue to sauté the sauce for an additional 15 minutes stirring occasionally.

  5. Stir in the fresh basil and serve warm with steamed veggies or over pasta.
