Ninja Air Fryer Crispy Cheesy Rice Balls
- 200g cooked white rice
- 30g grated hard cheese
- 50g shredded mozzarella
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp parsley
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper
- 1 egg and 2 tbsp milk for egg wash
- 100g breadcrumbs for breading
In a large bowl combine rice, hard cheese, mozzarella, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, parsley and egg. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
Insert crisper basket in unit and close lid. Select AIR FRY, set temperature to 200°C and set time to 15 minutes. Press START/STOP to begin preheating.
While unit is preheating, divide rice “dough” into 8 equal parts and form balls.
In a bowl combine egg and milk. Whisk well to create egg wash. Place breadcrumbs in a different bowl to prepare for breading. First dunk rice balls in egg wash and then coat with breadcrumbs.
Once unit beeps to signify it has preheated, open lid and place all rice balls in the crisper basket. Close lid to begin cooking.
When cooking is complete, remove rice balls from unit and serve immediately with tomato sauce and salad.
